"If it does not please you to serve the Lord,
decide today whom you will serve,
the gods your fathers served
beyond the river or the gods of the Amorites
in whose country you are dwelling.
As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”
(Joshua 24:15)
Take a large stone and set it up in the sanctuary of the Lord. “As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”
This stone shall be your witness, for it has heard all the words which the Lord spoke to you. It shall be a witness against you, should you wish to deny your God. You are your own witnesses that you have chosen to serve the Lord. Make a covenant and record it in the book of the law of God.
It was the Lord, your God, who brought you to the land that He promised to give you. Each and every step of the way, you have experienced his great works and miracles performed in your very eyes. He protected you along your entire journey and among all the peoples through whom you passed. Never forsake the Lord for the service of other gods.
You and your household shall fear the Lord and serve Him completely and sincerely. Cast out and put away these strange gods of this age that are among you for the Lord, your God is a holy and jealous God. Turn your hearts to the Lord and obey His voice.
Let the Children Come. A father will never find fault in his son and will always welcome him with loving arms. Through Christ, you became a child of God. Trust your Father in heaven in all things and follow where He leads. Approach the Lord your God with childlike faith. Only God your Father can restore you from your brokenness and give you the fullness of life that you seek.
With the Lord at your right hand, you shall not be disturbed. Your mind and heart will be fully focused on Him alone who works for good in your everyday living. He is your Lord in whom you take refuge and strength. He holds your faith and destiny in His hands and will never let you go. Be confident that the Lord will never abandon you regardless of who you are and what you do. He will never allow evil to take control of the life that He has given you.
Each day, you are taught, guided, and taken cared of by the Lord. He counsels you most especially in times when you seem to be confused or does not understand the things that are happening in your life. Only in Him can you truly find the joy and gladness of heart.
